American River Nutrition’s DeltaGOLD® Tocotrienol to Receive 2010 SupplySide® West Scientific Excellence Award
American River Nutrition, Inc. is proud to announce that it will be a recipient of the 2010 SupplySide® West Scientific Excellence Award for its patented DeltaGOLD® product line. Submissions for the award were evaluated based on science/research methods, scientific breakthrough, and innovation and appeal for the manufacturing community. The company will be presented with the award on Friday, Oct. 22 at 2pm in the Virgo Publishing booth, #22061. Along with this award, the innovative science-based company is pleased to announce its achievement of self-affirmed Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) status in July 2010.
Joining American River Nutrition at SupplySide® West 2010 will be Dr. Duane Graveline, a former NASA astronaut and medical doctor who will be signing autographs for his book, Statin Damage Crisis. Alpha-Tocopherol a Detriment to Tocotrienol Benefits
Japanese researchers have previously shown delta-tocotrienol to be the most potent anti-angiogenic Vitamin E compound. (1, 2)
In a recent study, the same researchers tested the influence of tocopherol on the cytotoxic effects of delta-tocotrienol in human colorectal cancer cells. Tocopherol, and especially alpha-tocopherol was found to interfere with delta-tocotrienol’s cytotoxic effects. Further, results indicate that alpha-tocopherol is not only less cytotic to cancer cells, but also reduces the anti-cancer effects of delta-tocotrienol by inhibiting its cellular uptake. ( 3 )
